The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) recently announced that the inaugural Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair scheduled to be held from September 7th – 11th, 2016 has been postponed to 2017 due to certain unfortunate difficulties.
“Due to a dispute that had risen regarding the event venue, the TGJTA is unable to secure the necessary space to organize the fair during the stated timeframe. We had hoped to resolve the issue by now but unfortunately, despite our full efforts we regretfully were unable to within the necessary timeframe, despite our full readiness and preparations,” stated the press release.
The TGJTA is now shifting its focus to begin planning and securing another exhibition venue to organise the Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair in 2017 instead.
“We are highly confident that this move will enable us to ensure greater benefits and a much better fair for our membership and the Thai gem and jewelry industry. We will provide update on this progress as soon as possible. We express our sincere thanks to all parties who have provided us with very generous support,” said Suttipong Damrongsakul, president of the TGJTA.
