GSI Hosts Sem­i­nar On US Re­tail Strate­gies In Dubai

GSI co-founders Deb­bie Azar and Mark Ger­sh­burg flank key­note speaker and Pre­ferred Jewel­ers founder Andie Wein­man. Ge­mo­log­i­cal Science In­ter­na­tional (GSI) pre­sented a break­fast sem­i­nar on ‘Suc­cess­ful Amer­i­can Re­tail Strate­gies’ at the DMCC head­quar­ters in Dubai. The sem­i­nar was pre­sented in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Pre­ferred Jewel­ers, whose founder Andie Wein­man keynoted the se­lect crowd on Proven Suc­cess­ful Amer­i­can Re­tail Strate­gies.

GSI co-founder Deb­bie Azar said, “While our busi­ness is gem­mol­ogy, we be­lieve that our abil­ity to bring knowl­edge from one part of the world to an­other is ben­e­fi­cial for our cus­tomers and for the in­dus­try as a whole. USA is the world’s largest and most ma­ture mar­ket. Its ex­pe­ri­ence is very rel­e­vant for every­body and es­pe­cially for an up-and­com­ing mar­ket like Dubai and GCC.”

Wein­man said, “The re­tail in­dus­try land­scape is chang­ing at an in­cred­i­ble speed with new in­no­va­tions and de­vel­op­ments; many old con­cepts are not ap­pli­ca­ble to to­day’s in­dus­try. Hence to break through the par­a­digm and recre­ate your vi­sion in the jewellery mar­ket for the fu­ture, it is es­sen­tial to build, grow and in­no­vate.” She added that the in­crease in syn­thetic di­a­mond mix­ing was an­other ris­ing con­cern.
