The lake is the brainchild of Hari Krishna Exports founder Savji Dholakia, who hails from a small village named Dudhala from this region. It was constructed from Dholakia’s own resources on 150 acres of land and was completed in just 120 days.

Hari Krishna Lake was filled to capacity following heavy rainfall in the area. It is expected to benefit about 22 villages in the surrounding areas. The water level in this area is expected to improve which will, in turn, help irrigation farming through the year, and yield around I100 crore or more to farmers of the area, the company said.
