Liverpudlians of rare merit!
Liverpool has started the season in fine fashion, winning six games and drawing two — against fellow titlecontenders Chelsea and Manchester City — in the Premier League at the time of going to press. While a heavily rotated side lost to Chelsea in the League Cup, the only blot in an otherwise smooth season was a lastminute loss in Naples in the Champions League.

Here, we take a look at five players who have been at the heart of Liverpool’s superb start.
