AIR­BUS TO SUP­PLY 118 AIR­LIN­ERS TO IRAN AIR

Dur­ing the state visit of the Ira­nian Pres­i­dent Has­san Rouhani to France, Iran signed an agree­ment with Air­bus In­dus­trie for the ac­qui­si­tion of 118 air­craft crit­i­cal to its fleet re­newal plans. The or­der in­cludes 21 A320ceo fam­ily jets, 24 A320­neo fam­ily jets, 27 A330ceo fam­ily jets, 18 A330­neo jets, 16 A350-1000s and 12 A380-800s. The or­der also in­cludes train­ing pack­ages for pi­lots and main­te­nance per­son­nel as well as sup­port ser­vices crit­i­cal to the new fleet’s en­try into ser­vice.

In ad­di­tion to the agree­ment for air­lin­ers, Iran’s Min­is­ter of Roads and Ur­ban Devel­op­ment, Dr Abbas Ah­mad Akhoundi, signed a com­pre­hen­sive co­op­er­a­tion agree­ment with the Euro­peans, which will see Iran’s civil avi­a­tion in­fra­struc­ture and reg­u­la­tory over­sight over­hauled and mod­ernised. Among the ar­eas in­volved in the deal are Iran’s air nav­i­ga­tion ser­vices, air­port and air­craft op­er­a­tions, reg­u­la­tory har­mon­i­sa­tion, tech­ni­cal and aca­demic train­ing, as well as MRO and in­dus­trial co­op­er­a­tion.
