The Di­rec­torate Gen­eral of Civil Avi­a­tion (DGCA), In­dia, has granted Civil Avi­a­tion Re­quire­ments (CAR) 145 cer­ti­fi­ca­tion to L3 Avi­a­tion Prod­uct’s main­te­nance, re­pair and over­haul (MRO) fa­cil­ity. The com­pany can now re­pair and sup­port civil avion­ics at its fa­cil­ity in Ben­galuru. The Hin­dus­tan Aero­nau­tics Lim­ited (HAL) air­craft can now re­ceive ser­vice and sup­port for L3’s FA2100/ FA2300 flight data recorders, among other com­mer­cial and busi­ness air­craft avion­ics. “This ser­vice will en­sure [orig­i­nal equip­ment man­u­fac­tur­ers] lev­els of qual­ity and sup­port, re­duce turn­around time and pro­vide a best-value, in-coun­try so­lu­tion to the civil avi­a­tion com­mu­nity in In­dia,” Kr­ishen Ganase, Pres­i­dent of L3’s Avi­a­tion Prod­ucts sec­tor, says. “L3 is proud to have a strong com­mit­ment and grow­ing pres­ence in In­dia, man­u­fac­tur­ing, sup­ply­ing and sup­port­ing avion­ics prod­ucts for more than 1,500 air­craft. L3 Avi­a­tion Prod­ucts is one of the first avion­ics OEMs to es­tab­lish an MRO fa­cil­ity in In­dia.”
