On Oc­to­ber 1, 2017, Sin­ga­pore Air­lines and Lufthansa Group, have en­tered into a part­ner­ship to craft a joint ven­ture ( JV). A re­port re­leased to the me­dia read, “The two air­line groups have also sig­nif­i­cantly in­creased code-share ties, with over 130 city pairs now of­fered be­tween key mar­kets in Europe, South-East Asia and South-West Pa­cific”. This plan was made pub­lic for the first time in Novem­ber 2015. The JV will cover flights be­tween Sin­ga­pore, Aus­tralia and Ger­many, Switzer­land, Austria and Bel­gium, the four home coun­tries of Lufthansa, SWISS, Aus­trian Air­lines and Brus­sels Air­lines, all part of the Lufthansa Group. Sin­ga­pore Air­lines, Lufthansa and SWISS, will co­or­di­nate itin­er­ar­ies and fares and will share rev­enue on flights op­er­ated by the three air­lines be­tween Sin­ga­pore and Dus­sel­dorf, Frank­furt, Munich and Zurich.
