Cisco and Thales tar­get global de­fence and se­cu­rity mar­ket

Cisco and Thales have an­nounced a new part­ner­ship to ad­dress the global de­fence and se­cu­rity mar­ket. The new agree­ment will com­bine Thales’ global in­dus­try ex­per­tise with Cisco net­work­ing and com­mu­ni­ca­tions innovations, ex­pand the col­lab­o­ra­tion glob­ally and ac­cel­er­ate joint go-to-mar­ket ac­tiv­i­ties and so­lu­tion de­vel­op­ment. The ex­panded col­lab­o­ra­tion is built on a long-stand­ing re­la­tion­ship be­tween the two com­pa­nies in the Euro­pean mar­ket.

The Cisco-Thales col­lab­o­ra­tion will en­com­pass a num­ber of strate­gic ini­tia­tives, in­clud­ing: De­vel­op­ment of Thales so­lu­tions based on a range of Cisco tech­nolo­gies; jointly ad­dress­ing key de­fence and se­cu­rity mar­ket op­por­tu­ni­ties such as mo­bile rout­ing or broad­band evo­lu­tion of ra­dio net­works; Joint go-to-mar­ket ac­tiv­i­ties, closely co­or­di­nated at both global and coun­try lev­els. grammes, in­clud­ing the op­tronic pay­load for the planned up­grade of the French navy’s At­lan­tique 2 (ATL2) maritime pa­trol air­craft, the imag­ing sys­tem for the fu­ture French-British MALE (medium-al­ti­tude, long-en­durance) drone, mod­u­lar op­tronic sys­tems for army com­bat ve­hi­cles, and op­tron­ics for to­mor­row’s he­li­copters.

Em­manuel de Roquefeuil of Thales was named Chair­man of the new com­pany, with Al­bert Le­vion­nois of Sagem as Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer.
