Northrop wins Fire Scout sup­port deal


Northrop Grum­man Aero­space Sys­tems, San Diego, Cal­i­for­nia, is be­ing awarded a $33.27 mil­lion cost-plus-in­cen­tive­fee con­tract for the devel­op­ment, pro­duc­tion, in­te­gra­tion, and test­ing of nine radar sys­tems on the MQ-8B Fire Scout ver­ti­cal take-off and land­ing tac­ti­cal un­manned air ve­hi­cle.

Con­tract funds in the amount of $15,844,756 are be­ing ob­li­gated at time of award, $11,344,756 of which will ex­pire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. Work will be per­formed in San Diego (70 per cent) and Patux­ent River, Mary­lan (30 per cent), and is ex­pected to be com­pleted in June 2014. The Naval Air Sys­tems Com­mand, Patux­ent River, is the con­tract­ing ac­tiv­ity.
