Air Mar­shal Daljit Singh takes over as AOC-IN-C, South West­ern Air Com­mand

Air Mar­shal Daljit Singh has taken over as Air Of­fi­cer Com­mand­ing-in-Chief, South West­ern Air Com­mand (SWAC), Gandhi-na­gar on March 1. The Air Mar­shal in­spected a cer­e­mo­nial Guard of Hon­our and ad­dressed all air warriors, DSC, NCs(E) and civil­ian em­ploy­ees on the oc­ca­sion.

Air Mar­shal Singh was com­mis­sioned in the fighter stream of the In­dian Air Force in June 1976. An alumni of the Na­tional De­fence Academy, he has flown over 3,500 hours on var­i­ous air­craft which in­clude Gnats, Ajeets, MiG-21s, Su-30MKI and Mi­rage-2000 air­craft. He is a qual­i­fied fly­ing in­struc­tor and a grad­u­ate of the De­fence Ser­vices Staff Col­lege, Welling­ton. He was Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Air (Op­er­a­tions) at Air HQ prior to as­sum­ing the post of AOC-in-C. He is a re­cip­i­ent of AVSM VM.
