Strate­gic bor­der roads along Indo-china bor­der

The government has ap­proved con­struc­tion of 27 strate­gic bor­der roads along the Indo-China bor­der at an es­ti­mated cost of ` 1,937 crore for the ef­fec­tive move­ment and op­er­a­tional re­quire­ment of Indo-Ti­betan Bor­der Po­lice. Th­ese roads are be­ing con­structed by Bor­der Roads Or­ga­ni­za­tion (15 roads), Cen­tral Pub­lic Works De­part­ment (8 roads), Na­tional Project Con­struc­tion Cor­po­ra­tion (2 roads) and Hi­machal Pradesh Pub­lic Works De­part­ment (2 roads) in the State of Jammu & Kash­mir, Ut­tarak­hand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Hi­machal Pradesh. Out of th­ese 27 roads, con­struc­tion of one road has been com­pleted. The con­struc­tion of 25 roads is in progress and the con­struc­tion work of one road will start in 2013.

This was stated by Min­is­ter of State for Home Mul­la­pally Ra­machan­dran in the Lok Sabha.
