Hal-brahmos part­ner for more in­di­geni­sa­tion

The Hin­dus­tan Aero­nau­tics Limited (HAL) and BrahMos— the su­per­sonic cruise mis­sile man­u­fac­turer in the coun­try— have forged the part­ner­ship for long-term sup­port to­wards all vari­ants of BrahMos pro­grammes at a meet­ing held in Hyderabad re­cently.

HAL will in­stall and aug­ment re­quired fa­cil­i­ties un­der the tech­ni­cal sup­port of Re­search Cen­tre Imarat (RCI, a DRDO agency ded­i­cated for de­vel­op­ment of in­er­tial sys­tems) to meet the cur­rent and the fu­ture pro­gramme ex­pec­ta­tions, said Dr R.K. Tyagi, Chair­man, HAL.

Dr A. Si­vathanu Pil­lai, CEO and MD, BrahMos, and other top of­fi­cials from both the sides were present. The two sides also agreed to part­ner and en­hance in­dige­nous con­tent of the BrahMos pro­gramme. HAL will de­velop cer­tain crit­i­cal elec­tronic sys­tems to­wards achiev­ing this goal.
