ITT Ex­elis com­pletes tech­nol­ogy mat­u­ra­tion phase of US Jam­mer pro­gramme

ITT Ex­elis (XLS) has suc­cess­fully com­pleted the 33-month tech­nol­ogy mat­u­ra­tion phase of the US Navy’s nextgen­er­a­tion Jam­mer (NGJ) pro­gramme. In­stalled on the US Navy’s EA-18G elec­tronic at­tack air­craft, the Jam­mer will al­low US forces to de­feat in­te­grated air de­fence sys­tems and dis­able an en­emy’s elec­tronic com­mu­ni­ca­tions, com­mand and con­trol ca­pa­bil­i­ties.

“The NGJ will pro­vide US and al­lied fight­ing forces with the tool they need to dom­i­nate the elec­tro­mag­netic spec­trum on even the most ad­vanced bat­tle­field,” said Rich Sorelle, Pres­i­dent of Ex­elis Elec­tronic Sys­tems. “Dur­ing the past 33 months, Ex­elis has worked closely with the US Navy to en­sure our tech­nol­ogy is ready for the next stage of this im­por­tant pro­gramme.”

Dur­ing the course of the tech­nol­ogy mat­u­ra­tion phase, Ex­elis suc­cess­fully de­signed, de­vel­oped and tested a num­ber of sub­sys­tems crit­i­cal to the next-gen­er­a­tion Jam­mer.
