Gio­vanni De Gen­naro ap­pointed Fin­mec­ca­nica Chair­man


Fin­mec­ca­nica’s Board of Di­rec­tors, con­vened un­der the chair­man­ship of the Vice Chair­man, Ad­mi­ral Guido Ven­tur­oni, ac­knowl­edg­ing the Share­hold­ers’ Meet­ing res­o­lu­tions, has ap­pointed Gio­vanni De Gen­naro as Chair­man and has con­firmed Ad­mi­ral Guido Ven­tur­oni as Vice Chair­man.

The Chair­man Gio­vanni De Gen­naro has been con­ferred at­tri­bu­tions re­lated to In­sti­tu­tional Re­la­tions, Ex­ter­nal Re­la­tions and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion, Group’s Se­cu­rity and In­ter­nal Au­dit, which will be ex­er­cised in co­or­di­na­tion with the Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer con­firm­ing the at­tri­bu­tions and pow­ers pre­vi­ously con­ferred to Alessan­dro Pansa as Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer and Chief Op­er­at­ing Of­fi­cer.

Fin­mec­ca­nica is Italy’s main in­dus­trial group, leader in the high tech­nol­ogy field, and ranks among the top ten groups at world level in the aero­space, de­fence and se­cu­rity sec­tors. Listed on the Mi­lan Stock Ex­change, with rev­enues of ap­prox­i­mately 17 bil­lion Euro, over 68,000 em­ploy­ees, 150 op­er­at­ing and com­mer­cial lo­ca­tions and 345 pro­duc­tion fa­cil­i­ties in 50 dif­fer­ent coun­tries world­wide, Fin­mec­ca­nica is an in­ter­na­tional and mul­ti­cul­tural group with an im­por­tant pres­ence in its four do­mes­tic mar­kets: Italy, United King­dom, the United States and Poland.

Fin­mec­ca­nica’s suc­cess is based on its tech­no­log­i­cal ex­cel­lence, which springs from con­spic­u­ous in­vest­ments in re­search and de­vel­op­ment (amount­ing to 12 per cent of the rev­enues), and the con­stant ef­forts it makes to de­velop and in­te­grate the skills, know-how and val­ues of its op­er­at­ing com­pa­nies. Fin­mec­ca­nica is ac­tive in the fol­low­ing sec­tors: Helicopters (Agus­taWest­land), De­fence Elec­tron­ics and Se­cu­rity (Selex ES, DRS) and Aero­nau­tics (Ale­nia Aer­ma­c­chi) – which rep­re­sent its core busi­ness – and it is also well po­si­tioned in the sec­tors of Space (Te­lespazio, Thales Ale­nia Space), De­fence Sys­tems (OtoMe­lara, WASS, MBDA), En­ergy (An­sal­doEn­er­gia) and Trans­porta­tion (An­saldo STS, An­sal­doBreda, Breda Me­nar­inibus).
