HAL signs MOU with Trans­parency In­ter­na­tional In­dia


Hin­dus­tan Aero­nau­tics Limited (HAL) has signed a me­moran­dum of un­der­stand­ing (MoU) with the Trans­parency In­ter­na­tional In­dia (TII) for adop­tion of in­tegrity pact (IP). “Con­sid­er­ing that HAL deals with num­ber of do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tional busi­ness part­ners for goods and ser­vices, the MoU will go a long way in es­tab­lish­ing higher stan­dards in our op­er­a­tions,” said Dr R.K. Tyagi, Chair­man, HAL.

The MoU was signed by Dr Tyagi and Jus­tice Kam­lesh­war Nath, Chair­man, TII, at a func­tion in New Delhi re­cently. HAL has so far signed “in­tegrity pact” with 115 ven­dors (85 for­eign and 30 In­dian).

“In­tegrity pact” is a tool de­vel­oped to en­sure that all ac­tiv­i­ties and trans­ac­tions be­tween com­pa­nies or govern­ment de­part­ments and their sup­pli­ers are han­dled in a fair and trans­par­ent man­ner. TII will sup­port HAL by pro­vid­ing ad­vice and re­sources to im­ple­ment the in­tegrity pact pro­gramme suc­cess­fully. In­ci­den­tally, HAL is the first de­fence pub­lic sec­tor un­der­tak­ing to sign such an MoU with TII.
