Rock­well Collins CAAS cock­pit on­board first Boe­ing Chi­nook de­liv­ery to Canada

he Rock­well Collins com­mon avion­ics ar­chi­tec­ture sys­tem (CAAS) cock­pit is fea­tured on the first CH-147 Chi­nook he­li­copter that was de­liv­ered to Canada’s Depart­ment of Na­tional De­fence (DND) dur­ing a cer­e­mony in Ot­tawa.

“The CAAS cock­pit will pro­vide Canada’s mil­i­tary pilots with en­hanced sit­u­a­tional aware­ness and safety of flight while sig­nif­i­cantly re­duc­ing their work­load,” said Troy Brunk, Vice Pres­i­dent and Gen­eral Man­ager of Air­borne So­lu­tions for Rock­well Collins. “We also con­tinue to de­liver on our com­mit­ments pro­vid­ing up­dates to the CAAS sys­tem for this cus­tomer on bud­get and on sched­ule.”

Brunk added that the Cana­dian CAAS cock­pit con­fig­u­ra­tion in­cludes an en­hanced sys­tem ar­chi­tec­ture and tai­lored pi­lot-vehi-
