Pak­istani singer de­tained for trav­el­ling on ex­pired pass­port


The Pak­istani Con­sulate of Dubai has con­firmed that Pak­istani pop singer and Pres­i­dent of Youth Wing of Pak­istan Tehreek-eIn­saf, Abrar-Ul-Haq, has been de­tained at the Dubai In­ter­na­tional Air­port for trav­el­ling on an ex­pired pass­port, even as or­gan­is­ers de­nied the claims.

Ab­dul Wa­heed, press coun­sel­lor, Pak­istan Con­sulate of Dubai spoke said: “Abrar-Ul-Haq is cur­rently de­tained at Dubai Air­port, be­cause he was trav­el­ling on an ex­pired pass­port. He has not been ar­rested. “He for­got his valid pass­port in Pak­istan and trav­elled to Dubai on an ex­pired one.”

Wa­heed con­tin­ued: “Other mem­bers of his en­tourage will be ar­riv­ing on the next flight and are bring­ing his valid pass­port with them. He should be al­lowed to leave then. “We are li­ais­ing with the Dubai au­thor­i­ties to en­sure the mat­ter is re­solved soon.”
