Gen­eral Dal­bir Singh con­ferred honorary rank of Gen­eral of Nepal Army


The In­dian Army Chief Gen­eral Dal­bir Singh was con­ferred the ti­tle of Honorary Rank of Gen­eral of Nepal Army by Nepal Pres­i­dent Ram Baran Yadav, at the Ras­tra­p­ati Bhawan, Shee­tal Ni­was in Kathmandu on Novem­ber 13. As part of a long-stand­ing tra­di­tion be­tween Nepal and In­dia, both the coun­tries con­fer the honorary ti­tle on each other’s army chiefs. The Pres­i­dent also fe­lic­i­tated the COAS with the in­signia of the Nepal Army.

The In­dian Army Chief also called on the Nepal Prime Min­is­ter Sushil Koirala at his of­fice at Singh­dur­bar. They dis­cussed NepalIn­dia mil­i­tary co­op­er­a­tion and mat­ters of mu­tual in­ter­est. The COAS praised the con­tri­bu­tions made by Gorkha sol­diers of Nepal in the In­dian mil­i­tary ser­vice.

The COAS vis­ited the Moun­tain War­fare School and in­ter­acted with the Ex-Ser­vice­men in Pokhara and also vis­ited Head­quar­ters Western Di­vi­sion on Novem­ber 14.
