Ad­mi­ral Su­nil Lanba, Chief of Naval Staff and Chair­man COSC re­leases Joint Doc­trine In­dian Armed Forces – 2017

Ad­mi­ral Su­nil Lanba, Chair­man, Chiefs of Staff Com­mit­tee (COSC) and Chief of the Naval Staff re­leased a re­vised ver­sion of Joint Doc­trine In­dian Armed Forces - 2017 in the pres­ence of Chief of the Army Staff, Chief of the Air Staff and Offg Chief of the In­te­grated De­fence Staff to the Chair­man COSC. “Joint­ness and In­te­gra­tion” in the Armed Forces is the or­der of the day like any other facet of life and there­fore re­lease of this Doc­trine could not have come at a more op­por­tune time.

The Joint Doc­trine In­dian Armed Forces will serve as a cor­ner­stone doc­u­ment for ap­pli­ca­tion of Mil­i­tary Power in a syn­er­gized man­ner lead­ing to en­hanced ef­fi­ciency, op­ti­mum uti­liza­tion of re­sources and fi­nan­cial sav­ings. It will also es­tab­lish a broad frame­work of con­cepts and prin­ci­ples to un­der­stand our ap­proach to Joint Plan­ning and con­duct of op­er­a­tions across all the do­mains of con­flict ie land, air, sea, space and cy­ber-space, In ad­di­tion, the Doc­trine will also serve as a ref­er­ence doc­u­ment for all the three Ser­vices to plan in­te­grated op­er­a­tions.
