GSL HAS DE­LIV­ERED LARGEST OPV TO SRI LANKAN NAVY AHEAD OF SCHED­ULE

Goa Ship­yard Ltd., (GSL) has de­liv­ered 1st Sri Lankan Off­shore Pa­trol Ves­sel (OPV) to Lanka Navy in a cer­e­mony held on July 22, 2017, 86 days ahead of sched­ule which was at­tended by H.E. Chi­tran­ga­nee Wag­iswara, High Com­mis­sioner of Sri Lanka Navy in In­dia, Rear Ad­mi­ral S.S. Ranas­inghe, Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Navy, Ad­mi­ral Arun Prakash (Retd), RAdm Shekhar Mi­tal, CMD GSL, and se­nior of­fi­cials of Sri Lankan Navy, In­dian Navy, Coast Guard and GSL. With this, GSL has suc­ceeded in re­duc­ing build pe­riod of 2,500 tonnes OPV to nearly 3 years from 5 years taken till about 3 years back. In the past 20 months, GSL has de­liv­ered five OPVs to the In­dian Coast Guard and one to the Sri Lankan Navy, and 13 smaller boats to Mau­ri­tius, mak­ing it In­di­aÕs big­gest ex­porter of ships.
