Though Kajol has not been very experimental with her looks, she has definitely varied in her skills. My Name is Khan is an obvious example of this. In the film, Kajol plays Mandira, a single Hindu mom and a hair-stylist, who falls in love with an autistic Muslim boy (Shah Rukh Khan), in the US of A, and how situations shape up after the 9/11 scenario, leading to a friction in their love life. Kajol brings out Mandira’s grittiness without ever losing her warmth and humour. She adds an emotional depth to her character which adds to her performance. Keeping her look as simple as it could be, Kajol wore smart casuals with chunky neck pieces or scarfs as add-ons to her look.
