R. MADHVAN UNVEILS THE COVER OF HEALTH & NUTRITION MAGAZINE
Magna Lounge was bubbling with excitement when the irresistibly hunky actor, R Madhavan, stepped in, to unveil the March 2016 issue of ‘Health & Nutrition’, the cover of which he had graced. Dressed in a smart grey jacket, casual tee and jeans, the actor unveiled the sizzling cover of the issue in front of the media. He was joined on the dais by Nari Hira, Chairman, Magna Publishing Co Ltd, Vinodini Krishnakumar, Editor, ‘Health & Nutrition’, and Rupali Suri, the charming emcee for the event. Rupali jumpstarted the press conference by asking Madhavan how it felt to be on the cover of ‘Health & Nutrition’, to which the actor cheerfully replied, “It feels great! And yes, over the years, I have realized the importance of eating right and staying healthy.” The floor was then thrown open to the media, with questions on his new bulked-up avatar taking centre stage. “Everyone is asking me about my transformation. I was into gymming even when I was in the NCC (National Cadet Corps) in college, but when you keep training the wrong way, fatigue sets in and you tend to put on weight. It took me a long time to realize that. But the whole process of working out now was a great learning experience.” When asked about any specific diet he followed to supplement his bodybuilding regime, he wittily replied saying, “I am going to come out with a video telling everyone I am a vegetarian, and that I didn’t consume any protein supplements either. The only thing I did was not eat anything after 6 p.m, and I hit the sack by 10 p.m - that worked!” As for not being part of any controversies throughout his filmi career, he humorously replied that he was clever and stayed away from them. “Actually, my life revolves around my films. I am constantly shifting from one film to another, so I cherish my time at home. I love spending quality time with my family, especially my son Vedant. I am a doting father but I don’t know if I am a responsible one,” he stated jokingly. To a question on turning director, now that he was into producing and writing his own movie scripts, he said, “The one thing you need to be a director is patience, and that is something I lack in heaps!” With laughter from the audience and a loud round of applause, the unveiling came to a close with the frantic cameramen snapping pictures of Madhavan, alongside the poster of his rocking cover!
