Switzerland- based Zünd – engaged worldwide in the development, manufacturing and distribution of multifunctional digital cutters – has launched a cradle feeder, adding to its assortment of automated material- handling devices. The company launched the new material handling system to address the basic requirements of any state- ofthe-art roll- handling system, such as simple handling, automated processes, highquality results and flexibility.

Available in widths of 71, 89 and 126 inches with Zünd S3, G3 and D3 cutter series, the roll-feed system permits wrinkle- and distortion-free unwinding of stretch fabrics. When a job is completed, the material can easily be rewound back onto the roll which allows tight, compact rolls without any air pockets. For even greater flexibility, the cradle feeder can be equipped as needed with an optional secondary roll- off unit with shaft.

It comes with an intelligent edge control that continually governs the precise positioning of the web on the cutting surface. If the sensor detects any irregularities, the cradle feeder adjusts automatically by correcting the alignment of the cradle. When the roll comes to an end, the unwinding/ advancing process stops automatically, which permits error-free feeding of textile rolls even in cases where the end of the material is attached to the core.
