In­dia: ATDC, GROZ-BECKERT ASIA ink deal for vo­ca­tional train­ing

Ap­parel Train­ing & De­sign Cen­tre (ATDC), the largest vo­ca­tional train­ing in­sti­tute for ap­parel in­dus­try in In­dia, has signed an agree­ment with GROZ-BECKERT ASIA (GBA) Pvt. Ltd., a lead­ing man­u­fac­turer of pre­ci­sion com­po­nent and tools, felt­ing nee­dles etc. to start the ‘CSR Ini­tia­tive for Vo­ca­tional Train­ing’ at ATDC Chandigarh.

Gur­preet Kaur, Reg­is­trar, Aca­demic Af­fairs on be­half of ATDC and Y.P. Sharma, GM, F&A, on be­half of GBA signed the deal. Dr An­ton Re­in­felder, MD, GBA; Shashi Kan­wal, CSR Con­sul­tant, GBA; Har­ish Dua, LMC Mem­ber ATDC & Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor KG Ex­port; Dipika, RA, CSDM, Vikas Puri, Re­gional Head – North East, DyS­tar In­dia; and oth­ers were also present on the oc­ca­sion.

The agree­ment will al­low GROZ-BECKERT to spon­sor the train­ing pro­gramme for 15 stu­dents. Out of th­ese 15, five stu­dents will be en­rolled for a three-year B.Voc de­gree course, while 10 will be en­rolled for a oneyear diploma course, to be con­ducted at ATDC cen­tres in Chandigarh and Lud­hi­ana, re­spec­tively. “This deal will be vi­tal in strength­en­ing women em­pow­er­ment in In­dia as the ma­jor­ity of the stu­dents of ATDC are women/girls only. There­fore, the sup­port which GROZ-BECKERT ASIA Pvt. Ltd. is ex­tend­ing to the stu­dents will greatly help and mo­ti­vate more and more stu­dents to join our Vo­ca­tional Pro­grammes which fo­cus on em­ploy­a­bil­ity,” com­mented Dar­lie Koshy, DG & CEO, ATDC on the sign­ing of the deal.
