In­dia: Na­tional and in­ter­na­tional ex­perts to grace TANTU Sem­i­nar on Septem­ber 16

The fifth edi­tion of TANTU Sem­i­nar is to be held on 16th Septem­ber 2017 at In­dia In­ter­na­tional Cen­tre in New Delhi. With most of the in­ter­na­tional brands al­ready pen­e­trat­ing the In­dian mar­ket, there are some In­dian brands which are ac­tively com­ing up in the ath­leisure seg­ment. This year’s TANTU will dis­cuss the chal­lenges and In­dia’s pre­pared­ness for this seg­ment.

Bi­jesh Todi, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, T10 Sports said, “Ath­leisure and ac­tive sports­wear are the ar­eas which are cur­rently pre­dom­i­nated by 3- 4 big in­ter­na­tional brands in In­dia. How­ever, with the in­crease in de­mand for sports­wear even among mid­dle and lower mid­dle­class econ­omy, there is a huge po­ten­tial for home grown brands in this seg­ment with bet­ter pric­ing, af­ford­abil­ity and value for money. It will be in­ter­est­ing to see how th­ese smaller new home- grown brands find their in­di­vid­ual spa­ces (with their own USPs and mar­ket seg­men­ta­tion) among the al­ready ex­ist­ing in­ter­na­tional brands.”

The high­light of the event will be panel dis­cus­sion on “Man­u­fac­tur­ing Chal­lenges” and “Mar­kets and Op­por­tu­ni­ties”. Dr. Pra­bir Jana, Pres­i­dent and Sem­i­nar Chair­man, TANTU says, “The sem­i­nar will be a rare con­gre­ga­tion of ex­perts and prac­ti­tion­ers of Ath­leisure and Ac­tive Sports­wear do­main, never seen be­fore. The de­lib­er­a­tions of the ex­perts will share and solve the prob­lems and fa­cil­i­tate the newly cre­ated yet high growth seg­ment to es­tab­lish as In­dia's strength.”

The key­note ad­dress will be done by Ram Sa­reen, Founder, Tukat­ech. In his speech, he will put light on the dy­namic world mar­ket and what In­dian man­u­fac­tur­ers needs to do.

The per­for­mance sports ap­parel mar­ket is ex­pected to gen­er­ate rev­enue of US $ 184.6 bil­lion by 2020, grow­ing at a CAGR of 4.3 per cent dur­ing 2015-2020. Ac­cord­ing to Euromon­i­tor re­port of 2015-16, the In­dian sports­wear mar­ket grew by 22 per cent, out­pac­ing the seg­ment's global in­crease of 7 per cent. By 2020, it is ex­pected to grow an ad­di­tional 12 per cent CAGR with sales ex­pected to reach US $ 8 bil­lion. By 2018, Asia- Pa­cific would emerge as the largest sports ap­parel mar­ket.
