CAM­BO­DIA: IN­DIA’S METH­ODS AP­PAREL JOINS FORCES WITH CGTI, CAM­BO­DIA

Meth­ods Ap­parel Con­sul­tancy In­dia Pvt. Ltd. has col­lab­o­rated with the re­cently opened Cam­bo­dian Gar­ment Train­ing In­sti­tute ( CGTI) which is es­tab­lished by the Gar­ment Man­u­fac­tur­ing As­so­ci­a­tion of Cam­bo­dia ( GMAC). The In­dian con­sul­tancy firm has ex­panded its reach in Cam­bo­dia on a large scale to train lo­cal man­power of the gar­ment in­dus­try with this col­lab­o­ra­tion.

The Cam­bo­dian Gov­ern­ment plans to en­hance the skills and knowl­edge of the work­ing pro­fes­sion­als from across the globe through CGTI to cre­ate a com­pet­i­tive ad­van­tage for Cam­bo­dia and boost the na­tion’s growth in the ap­parel/in­dus­try. Meth­ods Ap­parel has joined forces with Cam­bo­dia to cap­i­tal­ize on this up­skilling ex­er­cise.

Team StitchWorld, Su­naina Khanna, Di­rec­tor, Meth­ods Ap­parel, stated, “This is an­other mile­stone achieved by Meth­ods in the emerg­ing Cam­bo­dian mar­ket and we are be­ing ap­pre­ci­ated by none other than Hun sen him­self, the Cam­bo­dia’s Prime Min­is­ter for our ef­forts made in the train­ing area.”

Meth­ods Ap­parel will now take care of the short-term pro­fes­sional cour­ses for work­ing pro­fes­sion­als in the area of In­dus­trial Engi­neer­ing, Lean Man­u­fac­tur­ing, Kaizen, 5S, and In­dus­trial Re­la­tion of­fered by CGTI. Each course will take four to five days to com­plete.

Dur­ing the In­au­gu­ral func­tion, the Cam­bo­dian Prime Min­is­ter at­tended the train­ing ses­sion de­liv­ered by K. Shri Raa­jkhaanth, Di­rec­tor of Meth­ods Ap­parel on Lean Man­u­fac­tur­ing.

“Meth­ods is ac­tively in­volved in cre­at­ing the road map for the na­tional level train­ing pro­gram and will fur­ther par­tic­i­pate in ‘Kaizen Cam­bo­dia’ for bring­ing in sus­tain­able im­prove­ment. Talks are on to be­come a mem­ber of the Na­tional Pro­duc­tiv­ity Coun­cil of Cam­bo­dia,” com­mented Shri Raa­jkhaanth, who is also an in­struc­tor for the pro­fes­sional short-term cour­ses of CGTI.

Dur­ing the in­au­gu­ra­tion of CGTI, An­drew Tey, Di­rec­tor of CGTI un­der­lined that CGTI iden­ti­fied Meth­ods Ap­parel to ful­fil the Prime Min­is­ter’s vi­sion as it is ac­tively in­volved in bring­ing pro­duc­tiv­ity up in the ap­parel in­dus­try.
