INDIA: GARMENT TRADE BODY OPENS INCUBATION CENTRE IN GURGAON
Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), the official body of Indian apparel exporters, has set up an incubation centre in Gurgaon (Haryana) to cater to those interested in starting and operating a manufacturing facility in overseas markets.
The centre will act as an innovation hub and information dissemination midpoint for the innovators and the industry; thereby, bridging the gap between the two. The AEPC members will also be able to gain information on foreign markets and accelerate their businesses.
Start-ups will get in touch with investors alongside an access to workstations, meeting rooms and event space.
The trade association also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 3M to establish a mutual collaboration that seeks to enhance the occupational safety of workers. An agreement was also inked with the Association of NIFT Alumni to enrich the collaboration between the fashion institute and the garment industry of the country. According to AEPC Chairman, Ashok Rajani, the trend forecast service available at the incubation centre will help the exporters in getting insights on fashion trends for the coming seasons. Training and workshops will also be offered to new entrepreneurs.
Additionally, start-ups will get an opportunity to get in touch with investors through this centre alongside an access to workstations, meeting rooms and event space.
