Retirement perks

Sunday Express - - OPINION -

When Justice Sathasivam, after retiring as Chief Justice of India, readily accepted the gubernatorial post that was offered to him, several of his contemporaries had opined that he was settling for a post much lower than the one he had relinquished on retirement (TJS George’s Point of View, Oct. 7). Justice Chelameswar, who remained a non-conformist right through his career, had in interviews prior to retirement dismissed all possibilities of his taking up any post offered to him by the government.
