Hurricane death toll climbs to 13, search continues

Sunday Express - - WORLD -

The death toll from Hurricane Michael has risen to at least 13 amid fears it will continue to climb as search-and-rescue teams scour the debris of the Florida town that bore the brunt of the monster storm. “Mexico Beach is devastated,” Florida Governor Rick Scott said of the town where Michael made landfall as a Category 4 storm on Wednesday. Anwar Ibrahim won an overwhelming mandate in a parliamentary by-election on Saturday, setting the stage for his return to frontline Malaysian politics and sealing the once-jailed opposition figure’s remarkable resurrection. Figures from the Election Commission showed he got more than 71 per cent of the total votes cast.
