SRM ac­cred­ited with A++ grade

Chen­nai: SRM In­sti­tute of Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy, has been re­cently ac­cred­ited with the high­est grade A++ by NAAC (Na­tional Assess­ment and Ac­cred­i­ta­tion Coun­cil) with a score (CGPA) of 3.55 on a four-point scale, said San­deep Sancheti, ViceChan­cel­lor of the in­sti­tute. Con­se­quent upon achiev­ing a score higher than the thresh­old value of 3.51, SRMIST has been placed un­der Cat­e­gory I Uni­ver­sity, he said on Satur­day adding that the in­sti­tute will also be con­sid­ered un­der sec­tion 12B of Uni­ver­sity Grants Com­mis­sion Act 1956, which will make it el­i­gi­ble to re­ceive var­i­ous funds from Cen­tral govern­ment , UGC and other bod­ies in the coun­try.
