This hottest tech hitting this month, including new iPhones, Asus’ Zenfone and VU TVs!
Oh, the iPhone 8 is here?
We know all eyes are on the iPhone X but tradition can’t be broken by not launching one. So we get iPhone number 8 even though we expect the X to cannibalise its sales.
Sure but you’ve mistakenly put up the iPhone 7 there.
Actually you’re the one who’s mistaken! The iPhone 8 looks almost indistinguishable from its predecessor with those large bezels at the top and bottom but there is a major change. The aluminium back is gone in place of thicker glass.
No! Why did this happen?
Apple did this to support Qi wireless charging which otherwise wouldn’t have been possible with aluminium. Wired quick charging has also been added but, you’ll have to shell out extra as only the regular charger will be bundled.
What’s up on the processing front?
The new A11 Bionic is being used across all models launched this year. It promises major processing improvements with faster performance. The integrated Image Signal Processor especially enjoys better pixel processing, quicker low light autofocus and noise reduction.
Atleast an improvement over 7. Lets talk about the camera.
Sure, iPhone 8 has a 12MP wide angle camera with f/1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation. The iPhone 8 Plus sports a dual lens setup pairing a 12MP f/1.8 sensor with a 12MP f/2.8 telephoto lens. The Plus also gets a new Portrait Lighting mode that is supposed to give a ‘professional’ look.
I heard stuff about a new OLED screen.
Those were just rumours. Stop reading rubbish sites when you have us! The same retina IPS screen has been used here on both the 4.7” and 5.5” screens.
Dare I ask the pricing?
You can but no guarantees on whether you’ll like it. The iPhone 8 64GB variant is priced at `64,000 while the 256GB model costs `77,000. iPhone 8 Plus is `73,000 for 64GB and `86,000 for 256GB storage.
