Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro
Selfie Pro? These names I tell you...
Asus wants you to be a professional selfie taker. With new phones getting launched virtually everyday, good names are increasingly harder to find.
Can’t argue with you there. So tell me about the star of the show.
The 24MP dual front camera setup is actually a 12MPx2 DuoPixel unit with f/1.8 aperture and softlight LED flash while the secondary is a 120 degree wide angle lens. The Asus SuperPixel engine intelligently controls light sensitivity and reduces image noise evident in low light conditions. Bokeh selfies can also be taken and the selfie master app further allows you beautify and edit your snaps.
Did the rear camera not receive any attention?
It did and is pretty capable in it’s own right. The 16MP rear camera has 80 degree field of view and LED real tone flash. It can record electronically stabilised 1080p or 4K UHD videos as well as shoot professional RAW files.
Looking at those clicks is almost always deceptive on a mobile screen.
The AMOLED display with 500 nits brightness will specifically be a big help here. It offers sharp colour reproduction as well as great visibility under direct sunlight. Users can also adjust the colour temperature, toggle the blue light filter and more under the screen colour mode.
I sincerely hope Asus has done something about ZenUI.
Asus heard loud and clear the negative feedback which has resulted in cutting down the bloatware and streamlining of the new ZenUI 4.0. As opposed to the 35 (!) pre-installed apps from before, now it comes with only 13 of them.
Oh my god. I just can’t believe this!
Wait till you hear how performance has been boosted from 34-61% in opening those apps. New features like Twin Apps let users access two social media accounts on a single device. The new Gallery can organise user photos using facial recognition and groups can also be created to sort them on the basis of friends or family.
The smartphone is powered by the popular Snapdragon 625 which also powered many of the older Zenfone 3 models
