Can Montek bring succour to economy?

Tehelka - - 20 - JACOB SAHAYAM,

A well deserved encomium on Montek Singh Ahluwalia. Rohini Mohan has brought to focus the genius of the man in the background. Sadly, even a government with reputed economists like Manmohan Singh and Ahluwalia has been unable to tackle fiscal deficits, fall in rupee value and industrial output, risk of BOP crisis, etc.

THE REFORMIST

Refer to Rohini Mohan’s ‘ The Riddler on the Roof’ 19 May. Just read your piece on Montek Singh Ahluwalia. Thought it was a well-researched and well-written piece.

JOINT PARIVAR

Refer to ‘ Is the BJP losing to the Sangh’ by Ashok Malik, 19 May. The Sangh’s behaviour is absolutely disgraceful. The BJP has to battle the Congress, and all this useless infighting will undermine its chances. Is there no one who can show the RSS some wisdom? As a BJP and Modi supporter, I find this hugely disappointing.
