Tehelka - - ART - ABHINAV

I saw Andrei Tarkovsky’s Russian film Andrei Rublev 20 years ago and still remember what the protagonist stood for. Andrei was a monk who worked on making a cathedral. But he was more than just a monk. He was a seeker of spirituality through prayer and through art. Thus, he was torn between deciding which was the right path. The struggle between faith and art resonated with me so intensely that the screen became a mirror and I became one with the moment.
