Tehelka - - ISRAEL - BHAUMIK

Anhey Ghorey Da Daan by Gurvinder Singh gives us a glimpse into a day in the life of a family in rural Punjab. The film shows how encroaching urban industry is destroying rural life. It exposes the inherent casteism in the plight of marginalised farmers and captures the helplessness and anger of Dalits in the village. The film’s realism hits home as the director has employed villagers to play their onscreen counterparts, instead of professional actors.
