IF SHAKE­SPEARE was­still­churn­ing­out­plays, ­he may­have­cast­the­UPA in­Macbeth —­with­say, ­a supremely­con­fi­dent­Kapil­Sibal­sit­ting­in­his leather­chair­in­his­of­fice, ­sure­of­the­ground ­be­neath­his­feet. ­Sneer­ing­at­the­new­ly­formed­Aam Aadmi­Party­( AAP). ­And­then, ­like­the­curse­of­Macbeth, at­the­height­of­his­power, ­a­mes­sen­ger­walks­in­to ­in­form­him: ­“... anon,­methought, ­the­wood­be­gan­to move.”­Soon­af­ter­which, ­true­to­the­curse, ­the­woods out­side­his­cas­tle­be­gin­to­move, ­herald­ing­Macbeth’s macabre­down­fall. ­Enough­has­been­said­of­the­UPA hav­ing­ceased­to­gov­ern. ­But, ­per­haps, ­not­enough about­the­groundswell­and­how­there­are­many­ways in­which­peo­ple’s­dis­con­tent­is­be­ing­mo­bilised.
