WAITING FOR THE MASTERS

It’s a wait and watch for the officials of India’s premier investigating agency. A section of senior officers in the CBI are awaiting the formation of a new government at the centre so as to finalise the strategy and the line of investigation in certain high profile cases.

On condition of anonymity, a senior official in the agency said, “After all, we have to act as per the directions of our political masters. Investigative agencies, including CBI, are a part of the Executive and function under its administrative supervision.”
