Swamy granted ‘ Z’ security cover

New Delhi: BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has been given Z- category security cover by the Centre following inputs from Central security agencies of the high threat perception of the BJP leader. After the NDA government came to power, Mr Swamy had written to the Union home ministry seeking Central protection citing threats from various quarters. Sources said Mr Swamy will now be guarded by around 35 commandos of the CRP. Till now, Mr Swamy was getting enhanced security cover only in Tamil Nadu, for perceived threat from the banned LTTE, but now he will enjoy the cover across the country wherever he travels.
