EX- BSP MP U. P. ADVOCATE- GEN.

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

This is one appointment that has left everyone flummoxed, most of all Samajwadi leaders.

A BSP MP, who was ousted from the BSP when he publicly praised the then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, has been appointed the new advocate- general of Uttar Pradesh. The new advocate general is Vijay Bahadur Singh, a former BSP MP.

Mr Singh, a lawyer by profession, had reportedly approached the BJP for a ticket in the Lok Sabha elections but was denied the same. He then joined the SP and now has been rewarded with the top law officer’s position. Mr Singh replaces senior lawyer VC Misra, who was sacked on July 29 by the Akhilesh Yadav government for reasons not known.
