MAN JUMPS OFF WORLI SEALINK
Mumbai: A man, suffering from depression, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the sea from the Bandra- Worli Sealink ( BWSL) bridge early Monday morning, but the efforts of cops and fire brigade to trace him failed to yield any results, the police said. Chances of his survival are bleak, the police said. According to the Worli police, the person has been identified as 45- year- old Vikram Vasudev, who halted his car on the sea link at about 6 am and suddenly jumped into the sea. Vasudev, a resident of Prabhadevi in central Mumbai, was under depression following the death of his son due to brain tumour four years ago. He had also been facing a financial crisis, for the past one month, the police said. Quoting a security guard deployed at the BWSL, the police said that Vasudev halted his vehicle and stood near the boundary of the bridge. The guard tried to stop him.
