ORGANIC FARMING ON PRIORITY LIST

THE STRONG imprint of the RSS’ world view could be seen quite clearly in agriculture, as

the Narendra Modi- led government unveiled a slew of

measures in line with the thoughts of the saffron group. The government also appears

to have put the agenda of turning focus on the rural areas on the forefront. The PM has

also unveiled his vision for agriculture where he has laid stress on organic farming and curbing the trend of excessive usage of pesticides and

fertilisers.

AI, AIRPORTS ON AGENDA

THE MODI government is focusing on several important issues facing the aviation sector such as tackling the financial stress faced by airlines, reviving the fortunes of Air India, drawing up a plan for constructing new airports, boosting regional connectivity and encouraging competition among airlines by permitting the entry of new airlines in the sector. Hectic efforts are also on to get India’s top ranking restored

after an aviation safety oversight downgrade of India by the US’ Federal

Aviation Administration.

SOCIAL MEDIA AT FOREFRONT

WITH THE PM himself leading the way on the social media, the PMO is understood to be directing the affairs of the Union I& B

ministry in an effort to change the perception of the commonman regarding the government. The PMO is learnt to be guiding the I& B ministry on the social

media and its engagement with the mainstream media. For the first time ever the government is treating the social media

at par with the print and electronic media.
