Asset declaration deadline extended
New Delhi: Employees of the Central government, NGOs receiving foreign and domestic grant, as well as their executives need to file details of their assets and liabilities by the extended deadline of December 31, 2016. The department of personnel and training ( DoPT) on Friday issued an order notifying the new deadline, which is technically the sixth extension given to about 50 lakh government employees. They have to file details of not only their individual assets and liabilities, but also that of their spouses and dependent children, as part of mandatory obligations under the Lokpal Act. Whereas for NGOs and their executives, this is the first such extension.
