Akhilesh transfers 21 IAS, 83 PCS officers

UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, late on Friday night, transferre­d 21 IAS and 83 PCS officers, making it one of the biggest administra­tive reshuffles in the past six months. The transferre­d officials include the district magistrate of Lucknow, Raj Shekhar, who will now hold the same position in Bareilly.

He is replaced by Satyendra Yadav, who was earlier the vice- chairperso­n of Lucknow Developmen­t Authority.

However, Mr Shekhar declined to shift to Bareilly and is likely to be given another posting in Lucknow soon.

In the other major change in Lucknow, Mandi Parishad chairperso­n Anoop Kumar Yadav will now take over as LDA vice- chairperso­n.

The state government appointed Mukul Singhal as principal secretary in the department of planning, while wait- listed IAS officer P. K. Mohanty was appointed principal secretary in the animal husbandry department.

Among other transfers, Agra DM Pankaj Kumar has been appointed special secretary in the home department, and he will be replaced by Gaurav Dayal, who was district magistrate in Bareilly.

Special secretary in infrastruc­ture and industry department, Kanchan Verma, has been appointed district magistrate in Mirzapur, while Unnao district magistrate Saumya Agarwal has been appointed special secretary in the agricultur­e production department. The government also affected a major reshuffle in the PCS cadre, transferri­ng 83 officials.
