‘No detention’ till Class 8 left to states

The implementation of a ‘no detention’ policy, which does not allow any student to be failed till Class 8, may now be left to the discretion of the state governments. This was decided at a meeting of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) chaired by HRD minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday.
