GIRL DIES AFTER ACCIDENTAL­LY DRINKING POISON

A 15-year-old girl died at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital early Tuesday morning after she accidental­ly drank pesticide instead of water. The deceased has been identified as Rubina Begum, a resident of Gokulpuri. According to the police, Rubina is survived by her father, Farrukh, mother, three brothers and two sisters. The incident took place on Monday evening while she was at home. Busy with the household chores, Rubina felt thirsty and caught hold of a bottle lying next to her and drank the pesticide accidental­ly mistaking it for water. The police added that soon after consuming the pesticide, she began to feel uneasy and started to vomit. Her parents, upon seeing Rubina lying on the floor, immediatel­y rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred her to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital as Rubina was in a serious condition. After undergoing treatment at the hospital, Rubina died early Tuesday morning. The police was informed by the hospital authoritie­s who then visited the spot and carried out a probe.
