Lexus revamps its NX SUV

-

Once known as a brand for retirees and golfers, Lexus has since taken up a new styling direction which has quashed that image. One of the edgiest designs in razor edged range, the mid-sized NX SUV, has been treated to a refresh in Shanghai. Lexus has made the changes subtle, but they also add a touch of polish to one of the weirdest looking cars in production.

The Spindle Grille is recognisable with the nose on the NX massaged to integrate with the front fenders and bumper. New chrome detailing also brightens things up, with slight twist in the twin-element headlight design, dropping the old look for a better, flatter setup.

Power comes from a compact 4-cylinder engine, with a hybrid option. Powertrain remains the same, with better suspension, new stabilizer bars, and bushings for sharper turn in. The updated NX is on show in Shanghai at the moment. Prices are expected to stay similar to the current variant, which starts at $36,000.
