Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has kicked up another controversy with a statement made on liquor consumption at his party meeting. Mr Rajbhar, who heads the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party and is an ally of the BJP in UP, said at his party meeting that, “The Prime Minister once asked me how I could build up and run my party without substantial funds. I told him that we may be poor but we belong to a community that drinks more alcohol in day than what the BJP spends in a month in running its party”. The statement, expectedly, has drawn strong protests from the BJP, which now sees him as a permanent troublemaker. In July, he threatened to stage a dharna demanding transfer of an official in his constituency. The matter was resolved only after Yogi Adityanath intervened.
