2 jawans in­jured in Naxal ex­plo­sion

Bhopal: Two po­lice­men, in­clud­ing a sta­tion house of­fi­cer (SHO), were on Thurs­day in­jured in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents of Naxal ex­plo­sions in Ch­hat­tis­garh’s south Bas­tar dis­trict of Bi­japur. Ac­cord­ing to a se­nior dis­trict po­lice of­fi­cer, Nax­als trig­gered land­mine ex­plo­sion tar­get­ing a joint search party of se­cu­rity per­son­nel led by Gan­ga­loor po­lice SHO Manoj Singh in Sa­vana jun­gle in the dis­trict leav­ing him in­jured. The in­ci­dent took place when the search party was cor­don­ing off an area in the jun­gle where Nax­als set up a camp. The Nax­als am­bushed the search party against near Pala­nar when they were evac­u­at­ing the in­jured SHO. A jawan, iden­ti­fied as G. Vedja was in­jured in a land­mine blast.
