The Asian Age - - Nation - AGE CORRESPONDENT

Describing late RSS ideologue and founder of the Sangh Parivar affiliate Swadeshi Jagran Manch ( SJM), Dattopant Thengadi as someone whose views still remain relevant, RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said that Thengadi gave practical shape to Deendayal Upadhaya’s concept of “Integral Humanism.” Addressing the Dattopant Thengadai Memorial lecture titled — “Relevance of Dattopant Thengadi Thoughts in Present Global Scenario,” Mr Bhagwat said that many of his visions, whether it was about fading capitalism across the world or Marxist ideology losing grip over labour forces came true. Mr Bhagwat said that Thengadai was of the view that for successful functioning of any political system, it needs effective control by the society and for that we need people’s organisation to create awareness. The RSS chief said that such organisations should not be “lackeys” of those in power and stay away from power politics. He said the governing system has to work as per the Constitution and vigilant citizens led by “Lok Sangathan” ( people’s organisations) will have to ensure it.
