Honey­trap gang busted, 3 ar­rested

New Delhi: Two women and a 26-year-old man were ar­rested from Kr­ishna Na­gar area for al­legedly honey-trap­ping a busi­ness­man in or­der to ex­tort money from him, the police said on Fri­day. The man has been iden­ti­fied as Afroz. All three ac­cused are res­i­dents of Ro­htash Na­gar. On Thurs­day, a 19-year-old woman filed a rape case at Kr­ishna Na­gar police sta­tion where she al­leged that she was sex­u­ally as­saulted by a 52-year-old man on the pre­text of pro­vid­ing job, a se­nior police of­fi­cer said. Later, the police ap­pre­hended the man. “Dur­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion, there were many vari­a­tions found in the state­ment of the com­plainant. Later, it was re­vealed that the com­plainant girl was de­mand­ing money from the per­son she had ac­cused,” DCP (Shah­dara) Amit Sharma said. The com­plainant also in­tro­duced a woman as her el­der sis­ter. How­ever, when the woman was in­ter­ro­gated, she told the police that she was not her sis­ter. She also said that the three of them had hatched a con­spir­acy to trap the busi­ness­man from in a sex­ual ha­rass­ment case to ex­tort money.
