Honeytrap gang busted, 3 arrested
New Delhi: Two women and a 26-year-old man were arrested from Krishna Nagar area for allegedly honey-trapping a businessman in order to extort money from him, the police said on Friday. The man has been identified as Afroz. All three accused are residents of Rohtash Nagar. On Thursday, a 19-year-old woman filed a rape case at Krishna Nagar police station where she alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a 52-year-old man on the pretext of providing job, a senior police officer said. Later, the police apprehended the man. “During investigation, there were many variations found in the statement of the complainant. Later, it was revealed that the complainant girl was demanding money from the person she had accused,” DCP (Shahdara) Amit Sharma said. The complainant also introduced a woman as her elder sister. However, when the woman was interrogated, she told the police that she was not her sister. She also said that the three of them had hatched a conspiracy to trap the businessman from in a sexual harassment case to extort money.
